Doug came to South Park as Pastor on July 1, 2009 from Calvary Baptist in Weimar, Texas where he had also served as Pastor.  Prior to that, he was at First Baptist Andrews, Texas from 1986 to 2006.  During his twenty years there, he served for fifteen as Youth Minister and the last five as Minister of Education and Administration.  He began his ministry in 1982 at First Baptist Copperas Cove, Texas where he served four years as Minister of Youth and Education.

Doug received his education from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education in 1982.  He was licensed to the ministry by Second Baptist of Pasadena, Texas in August 1980 and ordained by Calvary Baptist of Weimar, Texas in April 2007.

Doug has been married to the love of his life, Jan, for over 35 years.  They have been blessed with three wonderful sons, two of which are married and the youngest just graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University.

One of his favorite passages of scripture is Jeremiah 29:11.  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Corbin was born in Dallas, TX and was raised in Katy, TX in west Houston. After recognizing his need for a savior through his mom's efforts, he became a Christian in 1990 at age 5. Corbin attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2008 as a history major and a religious studies minor. He married his wife, Ashley, that summer and moved back to Katy. After working for two years at a software company, Corbin and Ashley moved to Lubbock so Corbin could begin work on a master's degree in history at Texas Tech University.

Corbin and Ashley have served in youth ministries as volunteers and interns for several years before moving to Lubbock. Corbin became the Youth Pastor at South Park in November 2010. He enjoys working with students to equip them for the work of the ministry and to raise up the next generation of worshippers. Corbin enjoys reading military history, eating popcorn, and nights at home with Ashley.
